The Traditional Catholic Movement

This is the name given to the movement advocating a return to the Church’s perennial teachings and practice in the wake of modern revolutionary "reforms." While there is little uniformity within the ranks those calling themselves traditionalists, the following goals make for general points of agreement:

  • Restoring the authentic worship of the Church. In the West, this means a return to the traditional Roman Rite of Mass, Divine Office, and Sacraments as they existed prior to the post-Vatican II liturgical revolution.
  • Returning to traditional catechisis, preaching, and religious instruction in general based on the doctrine of the Church proposed to us through her infallible magisterium.
  • Reasserting the Church's traditional morals in the face of feminists, sodomites, and those who advocate the sin against nature known as birth control.
  • Renewing religious life according to the original intentions of the founders of the various orders, congregations, and institutes.

The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary are traditionalists. We advocate a return to the authentic traditions of the Church. To go beyond the general points of agreement common to everyone in the Traditional Movement, we can explain our approach to the issues and our position in the movement by enumerating a partial list of the novelties we are clearly against:

  • The denial of extra ecclesiam nulla salus which is rampant among the clergy, both higher and lower. This denial is not only tolerated but is implicit or explicit in the most literal reading of several "official" documents (which enjoy no infallible status), including: The Marchetti-Selvaggiani Letter (approvingly footnoted in recent publications of the Holy See), Credo of the People of God, Redemptoris Missio, Lumen Gentium, The Ballamand Declaration, the New Catechism, etc.
  • The destructive program of ecumenism, with its indifferentist doctrinal foundation.
  • The Novus Ordo Missae, a liturgical rite detrimental to the faith of Catholics, one concocted by liberals with the help of formal heretics (e.g., Max Thurian, Frère Roger of Taize, et al.).
  • Salient portions of Vatican II texts, which, if they do not clearly teach heresy, are so hopelessly and deliberately ambiguous as to derogate from the orthodox faith.
  • The dangerous policy of opening up to the world through dialogue, as articulated in Paul VI's Ecclesiam Suam and based on Jacques Maritain’s false philosophical system of "Integral Humanism."
  • The new teaching on religious liberty based on that same system and articulated in Dignitatis Humanae, a teaching which destroyed the notion of a Catholic state and subverted the doctrine of Christ the King.
  • The new teaching on and approach to the Jewish question, as spelled out in Nostra Aetate and frequently illustrated by public sins against the first commandment involving communicatio in sacris with Jews, as well as capitulation to the tyrannical demands of the most insidious elements within Jewry (e.g., the Vatican audiences granted to the pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, anti-Christ Jewish Anti-Defamation League, an organization currently headed by an apostate Catholic).
